Open Call for (New) AR Creators!

Dear Creators,

Studio APVIS is organizing an Augmented Reality Art Exposition at MOTMOT Gallery in Breda (13th November) and we are currently looking for talented artists to join the exposition.

The exposition will center around the following theme:

Mis Information, Fake News and Conspiracy Theories in the Digital Age

You are free to interpret this theme as you see fit. Each selected work has to consist of a physical print (preferably film poster format) and a digital augmented reality layer centered around this theme. Visitors will be able to walk around the exposition and experience the Augmented Reality artworks through their smart device using the Eyejack app.

We are currently looking for artist to display their already created augmented reality artworks or who are willing to create an artwork especially for the exposition. Interested? Fill in our form and we will get back to you with all the details!

The Workshop

Now we understand that not everybody just has an AR artwork laying around that fits the theme. Or you might just ask yourself; ‘sounds interesting this augmented reality thingy, but what the hell is it? and how do I make it?’

Well especially for these artists we organize a FREE Augmented Reality Workshop. The workshop will take place on the 15th of October 2021, at MotMot Gallery in Breda from 12.00 till 16.00.

During the workshop you will learn how to make a poster and add an augmented reality layer to it. We will teach you how to approach a project like this and give you ways to explore the relation between the printed image and the digital layer. Studio APVIS will guide you through the technological hurdles so that you can focus on the creative parts.

We would also like to stimulate collaboration between artists. Groups of 2 or 3 creators can collaborate to create one augmented artwork. Don’t have a partner? No worries, you can sign up alone, and if you are interested, we will try to match you with another creator! Ideally the skillset of the creators complements each other. For instance, one person might be very good at graphic design and composition, and the other might have better skills with animation, moving image or digital techniques.

After the initial workshop, artists will have time to work on their AR poster as they see fit. Studio APVIS will be available for any questions or technical support online. Further details of the expo will be discussed during the workshop
